First year Biomedical Engineering PhD students Seema Nandi and Daniel Chester join the group this fall as rotation students. Seema received her B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2015. Seema is interested in developing biosynthetic constructs for regenerative medicine applications. Daniel received his B.S. degree in Bioengineering from Lehigh University in May of 2015. Daniel’s research will focus on using microgel constructs to understand cell adhesion and spreading mechanisms. Welcome Seema and Daniel!
The AWR Lab welcomes Dr. Erin Sproul, our first postdoctoral scholar, to the group! Dr. Sproul her PhD from the joint department of Bioengineering at MUSC and Clemson University in 2014. Dr. Sproul’s PhD work was supported by an American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship and focused on understanding the role of elastogenesis in development and disease progression. Dr. Sproul postdoctoral work will focus on in vivo models of impaired hemostasis and development of next generation platelet-like-particles to augment clotting. Welcome to the lab Erin!
